MR. JEFFREY T. ROBERTS: In California the law provides that your employer must pay you within 72 hours of when your paycheck is due to you. Your employer also must pay you within 72 hours of leaving their employment. Now, if your employer doesn't pay you within that 72 hours you can make a claim to the Department of Labor here in California. That can be done through our office, the Roberts Law Firm. And when we make that claim for you, not only are we going to seek the money that you are owed, but we're also going to seek attorney's fees and we're going to seek penalties for the employer's failure to timely pay you.
