MR. JEFFREY T. ROBERTS: California employers cannot retaliate against an employee by firing them for making a claim, such as workers compensation, they cannot retaliate and fire an employee for making a discrimination claim, or participating in an investigation of a discrimination claim. Also, if an employee knows of some kind of violation of a statute or a law that the employer is involved in and brings it to the employers' attention, that employer cannot retaliate against you by firing you.
